You see, GS, if you are right - and this war is just the doings of an irrational person - then you’re right in everything.

But if the Russians are right - that the war is the result of a long process the purpose of which is to weaken Russia - and maybe even split it up, so it would never be a significant presence - then, killing Putin would change nothing. The next guy, starting immediately, would resume the same policies. That’s what I said on this thread many times.

I read Browder’s 2015 book, the “Red Notice”. It’s interesting, you do learn a lot - but ultimately, it’s sour grapes. Browder was making billions mimicking Russian oligarchs - buying up Russia’s economy for pennies on the dollar. That was very clever of him - but eventually, they decided they can do the same thing without sharing the big bucks with this foreigner. They may have seen him as a threat (I think) - when a mutual fund is number 1 in the world - that could have attracted many billions. Which would kill the golden goose for domestic predators. So, he was kicked out of the country.

Other than that, I doubt that he has any particular insights.
