Without taking sides, would say until and unless all combatants and near-combatants fess-up to what the war is actually about, the war shall not end except in tragedy of one or the other side losing big and civilians losing all, and that, perhaps, might be the point, teeing up yet another war to end all wars.

Haim is correct that unless Russia stopped this sort of war shall go on and enlarge to engulf

You are not wrong that if you are Russian you would fight, else all ends quickly against you and your civilians

C2 is spot-on that the war on the face of it is not existential for USA, tactically

Sense might be (implicitly if my understanding is correct of his explicit take) right that should USA fall down on its explicit obligations undertaken, ala Afghanistan / Kurds etc etc … then it is all over

The core problem with the 1st world domains might be that they collectively industrialized the killing of people, and people are, by definition, mostly civilians.
