Both of the Biotech indices were substantially below the NASDAQ Composite for the week. In terms of the individual stocks, once again the impressiveness of this weeks top performer AFIB (+58.6%) is detracted by its YTD standing is still (-62.5%) in the red. Also this weeks big loss (SNWV -80%) took a fair to middling performer prior to this week and pushed it down to the second worst YTD return of -88.2%. Alas, the best performing stocks are hitting highs that can’t compensate for the losers’ lows. :-( And for the portfolios, everyone was in the red both for the week and YTD. But the identity of the best of a bad lot is stabilizing. For the top 10 portfolios (YTD), nine were also in the previous weeks top 10. In fact the relative ranking of the top 5 is completely unchanged. Congratulations to BIOSCINTISTSA for returning to the top 10, after an absence of 3 months. HORSEINALFALFA, Dew, and geneguru have been the only ones in the top ten all year so far.
