In my experience, you get the best exchange rates at banks. The airport is usually the worst deal on exchange rates.

Your best bets for currency exchange are in this order:


#1 cash payment to private citizens
#2 cash payment to small money changers
#3 cash payment to local banks
#4 ATM withdrawals or credit card payments on cards issued in the US/CAN/EU, provided they are travel cards.
#5 Bank transfers
