I've been recommending those for over 20 years. My advice was to buy these and TIPs rather than using extra cash to pay off a mortgage early and it has worked out very, very well. My iBond portfolio is now larger than my mortgage Rates: kirklindstrom.com I have some that are paying me inflation plus 3%! (10.23% now and it will be higher come Monday...) Even got in the local paper with a mention of how I would recommend these but brokers won't because they don't get a fee to manage them since you buy yourself directly from the Treasury with no commission or management fee....
