Every method has its pros and cons. You have to know what kind of a sea you are sailing to choose the right one. So, yes, it is possible to hit a V recovery and end up with a small position. But how likely is that in the current environment?

This is a method to be used for when you are fighting the trend. V recoveries are not trends. Also, you are supposed to adjust it if the facts change. For example, if someone discovers how to make cold fusion power plants tomorrow, I will not be investing in oil pipelines, no matter how cheaply they are priced or what my former investment plan was.
