Sounds like - surprisingly - we kind of somewhat agree that NATO is an anti-Russia alliance. If so, than why is it such a shock that Russia chose to go to war rather than accept Ukraine's entry into NATO? That’s what nations did for millennia, no? - when they saw a major threat, they went to war, no? By doing so, they took a great risk - and put the whole world at risk. It sure seems they take this threat with extreme seriousness.

Disagree about Finland. Presumably, they won the 1939-40 war. So, why were they so quick to join Hitler and cause nightmarish deaths of about a million civilians in Leningrad? In 1949, they agreed to never attack Russia - or to allow their territory to be used for an attack. I think that’s the least they could offer in compensation for fighting along with the Fuhrer in WWII.

It’s true - they haven’t attacked Russia since 1941. But, again - HOW can they be members or a hostile military alliance - and still keep the 1949 deal? It’s impossible.

You brought up a bunch of other stuff, but it’s enough for now.
