Actually, this statement is false: that the US is "among the most barbaric of countries in the world allowing abortions at the last minute". There are times when a mother's life would be at risk if a late term abortion could not be done. This is recognized in many countries and is not "barbaric". The opposite--not allowing them--would be barbaric.

And no, we shouldn't allow the states the make the rules about this sort of thing. Lives are at stake; there are still states that don't recognize that fact.

Even if the fetus is an anencephalic or otherwise not viable? What if it has died? You do realize that all of the late term abortions fall under this category? Of course, if you consider anything beyond 6 weeks as late term, well you and your special definitions come into play.
