"Hope to see some good ads for it too, perhaps co-op'ed with Microsoft."

How about this?

You've seen it before... crowded conference room with a big projection screen with DOS code lines across it.... Voices from "experts" in the crowd shout advice "try the autoexec dot bat!" "No, fix the D-L-L!"
"How about the config dot sys!"

Then from the back, "GET A MAC!"

A slight pause, that unmistakeable Mac startup chime with the smiley mac logo followed by MS Office 98!!!! Powerpoint sizzles with animated graphics and Quicktime movies. Astounding slide transition flash before our eyes. When the presentation is over, it's met with applause and the presenter takes a bow.

It's every presenter's dream to have that kind of response to his presentation.

I've never seen a slide presentation on a Windows machine go without a snag that costs 3 to 10 minutes. They look for non-existent tech support, "Is there a doctor in the house" but I make it a point not to reveal myself without a contract. ;)

I'm usually the guy who shouts from the shadows, "GET A MAC!"

I'm a presenter's nightmare.

Bill, thanks for the update on Office. It will spur hardware sales.

No it won't.

--You know George, I had been thinking about buying new PCs for everybody, but since the new version of Office 98 will be ahead a few months on the mac, we will instead become a Mac shop.

Yeah right.

A timely release of a decent Office suite for the mac will stop the Mac slide, i.e. it takes away one reason to dump the Mac. The mac is now so deep on niche mode that a new version of Adobe photoshop would spur sales, not a new Office suite.
