Indeed, Khanna, while repeatedly denouncing Putin's aggression, heaped praise on former President Obama for long resisting bipartisan demands to send lethal arms to Ukraine — based on Obama's oft-stated belief that Ukraine is and always will be a vital interest to Russia, but will never be to the U.S. — and argued that such a move would be dangerously escalatory:
That was last February. At this time, they’re all hyper-enthusiastic about sending tens of billions worth of weapons. The more, the merrier.

Interesting to see that president Obama experienced occasional attacks of common sense. Unfortunately, he hasn’t stood up against HRC’s Libyan adventure (Veni, Vidi - and he’s torn into pieces… hahaha). A nation thrown into anarchy and radicalism for no discernible reason. Which also led to great numbers of people “migrating” to Europe.

Edit - I wonder what Obama has to say about the current events. Probably, he’s safely back on the bandwagon. Will check. But, it also suggests that he may have less to say about current policies than one might think.

Simple answer = UN peace keeping force occupy Donetsk, Luhansk, Mariupol area, hold local referendum on independence for new countries. If they vote for staying in Ukraine, joining Russia, or being independent, then that solves the problem. People who have fled would need to be counted too, so it's not a simple vote. Akin the Scotland voting for independence from England and England voting Brexit, and northern Ireland voting SinnFein. No need for shooting and murder.

Meanwhile, Russia can enforce no NATO rockets and atomic bombs in Ukraine by simply declaring that to be a MAD activity.

Crimea has been Russian since the 19th century, like USA annexed Hawaii. Back in the day, there wasn't voting. Military force ruled the waves and everything else. So Crimea should stay in Russia. It was only in Ukraine because of paperwork back in the USSR.

Greenwald is good!
