Well, as one of the people who has been included in the law suit here is what I know and have been told:

$8 million is set aside for this purpose. $2 million in cash and the remaining $6 million will be paid in the form of stock. The judge is to determine the amount of shares/cash each plaintif is going to get by the end of April 1998. Since the judge has not decided yet, I do not know the base price of the shares he/she is going to decide to give to the plaintifs in the law suit. But when I recall 2 years ago there was talk of the base share being at around $6.25 (and at the time the stock was at around $2/shr) which if still true the total amount of shares the judge is going to use for distribution to the share holders is going to be under 1 million shares (and this is very insignificant). However given the stock price has risen since then I have a feeling the base price is going to be much higher. As soon as I find out I will let everyone know.

As for the acquisition of this insurance consulting company, the more I think about it the more it makes sense now! Sapiens is going to use these guys and sort of represent itself as "the experts" in solving Y2K problems in the insurance industry. And this in my opinion is a very wise move considering the competition that currently exists among Y2K players to grab this huge market.

The only dumb thing Sapiens did was that they did not elaborate and explain a bit more about their acqusition in their official announcement. But then people should know by now that these guys are not Ronald Reagan or Bill Clinton type of people who can communicate and express their thoughts and intentions to the public in a highly articulate manner! In fact sometimes I wished they did not say anything at all to begin with!
