I looked through Intel's Y2k notices. It seems they addressed the issue at the time line split between the 486 and pentium incarnations.

Knowing Intel's tenacity in most areas, I would assume they've already devoted a considerable amount of effort to remediating Y2k internally... of course I could be completely wrong and this is exactly what they've found their problem to be, or they'll use it for redundancy on their own internal checks.

My other line of thinking is that Intel would resell an oem'd version of the Tava products.. and is weighing this vendor assistive option with that "single purchased disk." At this stage its rumor and speculation, but very interesting rumor and speculation just the same and a lot of fun.
