Hmmm, If Carter started it then Reagen must have expanded it or promised not to kill it. One of my biggest problems is I can't remember hardly anything anymore and I'm only 43. If this keeps up at the present rate I won't remember who I am by 50. JH

Bob, Jim, Surething, All, I'm gonna pick you all up in one post. Slow computer syndrome. Hope you don't mind. Reagan nearly died from his gunshot wounds. I don't think the nation was fully cognizant then or now of how serious his injuries were. I have only the vaguest of memories re the SS agent on the scene when Reagan was shot. It seems as though the injured Jim Brady took the spotlight among the others who were present at the time and over shadowed them. I saw Oliver Stone's movie, "JFK," and liked it very much. However, anything concerning the JFK assassination has always fascinated me. I don't put a lot of stock in many of the theories he held forth in his movie. I particularly disagree with the film's portrayal of Jim Garrison, New Orleans DA, and it is very much at odds with historical fact. When you remove the Garrison fantasy from the film, much of it falls apart. Were I to get into this and other aspects of the JFK assassination--especially my theories about the Warren Commission and what reasons they could have had to behave and report as they did--I'd be writing about it all night and never get any funny headlines out there. <vbg> I did not see the movie, "Conspiracy." It sounds like a cool movie, though. I agree that the SS is an elite and highly polished group of professionals. I did not mean to cast aspersions. When I said that they drive screwy, I probably should have said that they are excellent "stunt" drivers. That does sound a little better. Did I leave anything out? Holly
