I heard a guy say the soaring demand for electricity to power EVs is pushing natural gas prices higher because that is what is supplying most of the incremental electrons to meet the demands.

So people without the means to buy expensive EVs and power them with solar panels on their roofs will pay more to heat and cool their homes just as they are paying a lot more to drive their old, inefficient gardening trucks and handymen vans from job to job as well as shuttling kids to school, getting groceries more expensive because we're burning the corn that used to feed chickens and cows...

I said 50 years ago... no shit, I really did, that we should put the money we spend in protecting oil in the middle east into alternative energy and drill as much as possible to get us through until we could use fusion, solar, wind, etc. to power everything. The idiots we have on power see the end point but lack the mental horse power to see how to get there without crushing the economy, especially the poor and middle class... "limousine liberals" is the perfect moniker for the fools.
