Thanks John. As I said, I have not studied the case for refineries. I am relying on information that I got off of Yardeni site a few days ago. He made two observations: one was about heavy vs light oil. And the other was about some arcane law that says US goods should travel the seas on American vessels. The law as passed during WWII (I think) was to help develop the US merchant fleet that could augment the US navy should the need arise. It has not been working but it is adding to the expenses at the pump and the cash registers. Anyways, thanks for the info.
