Gary back home; starting with your post: " drop of >5% to less than 3% he would have had to have sold a lot of shares ".

I am not impressed. In 1 year with Vivus at >50, the board can approve another 500000 shares/options as payment; shareholders will approve; may be he wants to build a large home a la Bill Gates; he can't pick his sell times he has to do it within certain windows.
