I'm just surprised that my niece and four nephews don't know enough history to understand why features in their current world, like Social Security as an example, were created and how things came to be.

I think it's very important for voters to understand how their world came to be.

Maybe I was more interested in why things were, but it surprises me they don't see how the world has naturally bumbled along changing one fix at a time mending what had just gone wrong, without any master plan by anyone.
