I hears ya, but IMO we have to focus on developing and implementing safe, mass, ubiquitous green sources of electricity. Faster than the current pace.

As well as building and selling a better, greener public transportation infrastructure locally and nationally. Like Ike building the post WWII interstates, only more sustainable.

Otherwise we appear as authoritarian elites shaming the masses from truck drivers to car culture; not a good spot to be in politically. Not a path to solving the problems.

Make the energy available and significantly cheaper and they will come.

What the United States does isn't that important if the remaining 7.5 billion people aspire to drive gas powered Buicks.

I'm not giving up my mid-size SUV (gas) till I see progress on reducing the world population. I joined Zero Population Growth (ZPG) when I was 22 years old, had a vasectomy* and now almost 80 with no regrets.
The people who expect me to eat crickets while they over populate the earth are the real cause of global warming due to needing ever increasing amount of energy.
*Found a urologist willing to do it, asked me several time was I sure? Yes/100% sure!

>>>We'd be lucky to get half of our own people to give up their giant SUV's.
