Let me ask you honestly, have you ever considered suicide to help in achieve your overarching objective? Why or why not? It is a tragedy of the commons problem. One person taking his life is not a solution. 7 billion people taking their lives may be a solution, but, as you say, that is an ugly solution. The one child policy in China was a failure. The policy was flawed, but to say it was a failure is a stretch. My point has always been that there is no solution that people are likely to accept on a voluntary basis, and there may well be no solution at all.
