While Covid policies in China make headlines, Covid numbers around the globe are increasing once again. We are not done with this critter.

*My take is that Xi is under pressure to backpedal from his zero covid policies. Given the unrests and bank runs in China, he needs to reduce social pressures as much as he can. So the media is a building the public opinion to allow him save face and declare victory while doing that.

I talked to my wife just yesterday. She told me that all the street venders are gone, as in again & again. Any produce, any food availability, is limited to just a couple of near stores. Also, she mentioned unemployment is increasing.
