A rising tech will always remain inferior to the established one. This is what it means to be *rising*. For example, audio cassettes were far inferior to vinyl records. In fact, even CDs remained inferior to records for a long time. And streaming audio is far more inferior to CDs.

So while I agree with you that range insecurity remains a problem in the US (and Canada). That is not a reason to believe EVs will not take over. But first the hype has to turn into loathing. So we are probably ~3 years away from the trough.

BTW, I hold the same opinion on crypto and digital currencies. I have no doubt that they will take over the financial world, just as the Internet took over the information world. When they do, it will be make a loud booming sound around the globe. Not just in the financial world, but entire governmental systems will collapse. But that will come later. My guess is the trough is in ~5 years and the tipping point in ~10 years.

Bob, we have very different outlooks on the EV evolution. It’s imho like a snowball running down a hill. It just gains mass unless destructed by a huge boulder. I don’t see this huge boulder.

We could argue EV pros and cons until the cows come home.

Your argument about range on EVs is destined to fail as battery and charging technology evolves.

BTW, my favourite company in the EV world is BYD. I think you will like it too if you take a closer look.
