Hi Fiscal,

We do have a lot of naturals gas, but in the past we were viewed as an island. An Island that had large reserves of stranded gas - thus the inexpensive cost.

We now have 6 liquefaction ports and are exporting to Asia, and now Europe with the Ukraine war. Asia signed long term agreements and are diverting shipments to Europe. Europe now pays 8 times what we pay.

Corpus Christi, Freeport, Houston, and several in Louisiana, plus one on the Hudson river on East Coast volume that have made us the largest export, even surpassing Qatar.

We're going to pay more in the future:

Largest operational LNG terminals in the U.S. by capacity 2021
Published by N. Sönnichsen, Sep 16, 2021

Sabine Pass is the largest operational liquefied natural gas terminal in the United States as of 2021, with an annual capacity of 55.4 million metric tons. The terminal is located in Louisiana and is also the largest operational LNG terminal by capacity worldwide.

Following Sabine Pass, Freeport LNG terminal ranked second in the U.S. and seventh globally. This terminal is located in Texas and has a capacity of 28.5 million metric tons per annum. Freeport is expected to undergo expansion by 2026 and add 5.1 million metric tons to its capacity.

I've bought a lot of KMI, which pays a dividend of $1.11 as a hedge for what will be more expensive here in the US.
