People tend to think of countries as a monolith, e.g. China wants this or Russia that, but in reality they are a fuzzy spectrum of positions. The US is no different. Biden certainly doesn't want Pelosi there. But she is going anyways. Xi has painted himself in a corner and can't realistically shoot her plane down. Maybe she wants to play hardball with Xi.

Then again, all politics is local. So maybe she is using this to stir things up and win over support for chips and semis and other things being built in the US and against China. Or maybe her husband bought a whole bunch of YANG <g>.

I really don't know. The market seems to have made up its mind to go up till September.
