TJ I don't have the reference handy, but 68% of likely US voters want the Chinese to shoot down Pelosi's plane. It would really improve things in the US. Any chance you could facilitate this with your contacts?

Emperor Pooh Xi said something about those playing with fire get fired. A similar expression = live by the sword = die by the sword. More = blessed are the meek for they shall inherit Taiwan, China, USA, Ukraine, Russia, England, Crimea, but not Aotearoa-Zimbabwe judging by the murder and crime rates or the weekly murdering of infants by Maori welfarists. He who hesitates is lost. Look before you leap. A stitch in time saves nine. Don't let a slogan do your thinking for you. Fight fire with fire. The best means of defence is offense. Let's go with Emperor Pooh Xi's warning about playing with fire. He perhaps has the common mental defect of failing to see the reflection in the mirror of his own words. Or, he has adopted the edict = Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. In which case he would be consistent in his fire warning and not fire first. Pooh Xi won't fire first as he would thereby be playing with fire. Or his slogan isn't worth the paper on which it's written and he prefers Mao's power growing from the barrel of a gun and he fancies dying in fire, or he's just another lying politician. Crazed Yanks are more likely to fire first coz they've watched wild west movies in which, at high noon, the two men meet in the street. Fastest draw with best shots wins. I recommend a nice cup of tea, scones, clotted cream, with strawberry jam instead of all those fiery slogans. Invite Nancy to Beijing while she's there for tea and scones. Brutish threats are unbecoming = especially to two ladies meeting in Taiwan. Ungentlemanly. Meanwhile, in case Emperor Pooh Xi gets trigger happy, and starts playing with fire, 1000 gigatons better be ready to launch. I guess hypersonic missiles will be confused by 10 megaton neutron bombs at 20 km altitude. I haven't been to China since 2004..
