This is not a popular message in America, and especially with the conservatives, but the only way forward for the US is a wealth redistribution. There are lots of historical precedents for this, going all the way back to biblical times. The problems of America are not so much about debt or currency as they are about capital misallocation. A Reagan type program of tight monetary policy + lose fiscal policy is what is needed. But GOP will block Dems from doing it and has also painted itself into a corner and won't be able to do it themselves. We are watching a slow motion train wreck.
