VLSI just gets no respect - 20 new postings for LSI Logic, and just two for VLSI! Not to mention LSI has higher valuations even though VLSI has better technology and will easily out-grow stodgy old LSI in 1998.

Five years ago LSI WAS a hot company, but they fell behind. VLSI has a substantial lead now, and have become the defacto premire (independent) baseband wireless IC producer.

this is old news (feb 6) ..target for vlsi was 25 in 6 mo.
I dont know why vlsi should trade only 15x, when he estimates erning
growth of 22% from 98 to 99. anyway 1.64*22 would be $36 atleast.
According to Zacks estimates this company has 25% earning growth.
But then sutro down graded the company next day after the earnings
on jan 16th.

shane, just wanted to comment on your posts. Very impressive (to say the least). I just spent 3 hours reading your lsi, borl and vlsi posts. I may have to bookmark you.
Read the article on equiptmakers and considering which are the
backend equipmakers. (ter? klic?). currently holding nvls & amat.

Niles(robertStephen) believes that over the next six months, VLSI should be able to get multiple expansion to at least 15x his FY 98 EPS of $1.64 leading to a $25 price
target. He believes that this is reasonable given the current outlook for the semiconductor market. Niles also introduced his 1999 EPS estimate of $2.01.
