Well luckily forgiveness is only to individuals who earn less than $125,000 per year so hardly anyone with a loan will qualify. LMAO It's not like subsidies for education have led to ridiculous prices... now the next shoe is dropping, hell we'll give you back 10k you agreed you would pay (tho at the time you felt it was a worthwhile investment in your education). Incredible.

Most likely your interest rate is too low for that to be possible. I have a friend who really bucked up to put his son through law school. Great parents, both of which did not go to college. Good son who always had good grades and never got in any trouble. We talked about the family loans who had to be collateralized with their home. Those loans were 5.0% to 6.25%. I asked why so high? He said, no degree yet and no assets for the son. He now is an attorney, moved into a nice condo in Downtown Milwaukee. I told the parents to look into SOFI. They renewed their loans at a much lower rate, and are now paying them off. I know of two families that put both of their kids through college, and the parents didn't go to college. Both parents are working and helping pay the college debt off with their kids as well. Having never had children, I'm in awe as to how much sharing and giving those parents have invested in their children. I told my friend, I really did not know his family that well, as we are both members of the local athletic association that supports youth athletic events. I told him it is apparent that his family is a class act and their parenting is a role model. Days later his wife came up to me and said it was very nice to here my opinion. Americans - there are so many fine well meaning people. The Central unit of good kids is the family. A family with two parents. It takes two to get it done the right way. Our crime infested, urban cities need to embrace those values or their plight and violence will never get better. A single parent family can get it done, but it takes a super human role model. I love the Ben Carson story. What a class act he is and did a great job as a cabinet member in Trump's administration. A lot of people criticized Trump for poor people judging skills. People like Carson, Perry, Pompeo, General Flynn all did super jobs and got targeted from the FBI immediately. I get the willies when I hear Granholm, Buttigieg, Blinken or Mayorkas talk on the TV. If thier lips are moving, they're lieing. Bob They seldom get the recognition they are deserving of. IMO Sadly the MSM focuses so much on the dregs of the world. It's a bad skew of the times. Bob
