Paul,

Finally! Please, will somebody give this man the microphone and turn the camera on him?

Holly

>>No! The point is that this is a mindless, tabloidized diversion from the real problems facing the world today! Should Eisenhower have resigned as head of SHAEF because of an affair with Kate Summersby? Should Kennedy have been politically hobbled and be unable to deal with the Soviets in Cuba?

Yes! The Clinton sex scandal now involves possible criminal obstruction of justice, unlike previous cases, so avoiding the scandal is not in any way a real world option. The present situation is clearly a product of Clinton's own recklessness. The logical implication and the only way for the U.S. to do what Rosenthal deems necessary would be for Clinton to do the honorable thing - resign for the good of the country.

But of course, doing the honorable thing would be out of "character" for Clinton and he said Never! to that, once again putting his interests above U.S. interests.
