Wall Street has drugged many into thinking that one cannot time the market.

Remember, if you're making money you have to both time the market properly, AND pay taxes on your gains.

That makes it a lot harder.

You got a stock you buy at $100, it goes to $150, and you sell it, lets say you're in a 30% state + federal bracket, you only got $135 of your $150 sale after taxes to invest, If you hold it at $150, it has to drop below $135 before your decision to sell was smart.

The more you're making investing (like, a 5 or 10 bagger) the harder the tax problem is to overcome.

All kidding aside, if you had shown how this had worked for you in the past, someone might pay attention.

Everybody is playing their own game for their own reasons. Income, comfort zone, etc., etc.

I may have the biggest percentage loss of any posters here today. I have had much bigger.

Everybody wants to be a market savant. Most times it is akin to running into somebody walking down the
street, who tells you that you should invest like them because they do well. Well, then, show me.

My portfolio income may be the lowest since I started tracking in 2010.

I may end up in the red for the year today. That will be about 20% better than SPY. That will follow three years
of beating SPY by 20% or more, since I first began to get away from income in Dec. 2018.

My game is to beat SPY. I have made some major moves over fairly short periods of time, but to win MY
GAME, I haven't seen the need to jump in or out with both feet.
