I love that kind of accounting-detective work... I hope you find something that clearly points to the AFC jinx being lifted! :-)

At the end of the day I got a chance to look over the IDIOT
WAVE
history. Looking specifically at my Best/Worst Index for Low
Risk periods (as indicated by the moving average, not the raw data) I
found the following:

DATE NASDAQ NASDAQ % Change NASDAQ % Change
Comp. Index @ 3 Months @ 6 Months
6/11/82 173 182 +5.2% 233 +35.2%
8/20/82 167 229 +37.4 261 +56.5
4/27/84 247 229 -7.1 247 nil
11/13/87 323 353 +9.4 372 +15.3
1/12/90 440 426 -3.2 468 +6.5
9/14/90 374 369 -1.5 466 +24.5
9/6/96 1139 1288 +13.0 1312 +15.1
1/9/98 1503 ???? ????? ???? ?????

It shows that my Best/Worst Index has been better at the six month
point than at the shorter 3 month point. This time we're up about 12%
since the most recent low risk reading was taken about a month ago.
Maybe it's a good sign for the remaining 5 months! Somebody remind me
to update this in April and again in July.

Best regards, Tom
