That's funny - I have always bought used Samsung Android phones. I have two now; (1) I use to shoot videos and (2) another for my main cell phone service.

My biggest savings and so far quite happy is my annual Mint Mobile plan that cost me $180/year ($15/month). I get 4Gigs/month data and unlimited text/calls. Prior to that I was using a pay as you go w/ limited text/and data. Most all of my activity is using WiFi. I have a VOIP service I use that works w/ WiFi & w/ my new cell service at $6/month.

The Mint Mobile uses the TMUS Cell Towers. They are expanding their Network and even offer wireless broadband to the home. It's incredible the amount people pay for their monthly cell service and bundled cell phone fees. My cost is $15/month vs over $114/month for other plans (combined w/ phone).

Notice when you go to these stores, they all want to sell you a 'bundled' package.

The average monthly cell phone bill for Americans in 2022 is $114 per month. Add $40/month for a 2 year Cell Phone

I closed out my VZ based on the competition in the cell business and all the competitive rate plans. I still own T & LUMN (bought a bit more LUMN earlier in the week). LUMN is selling their legacy wired cable line business and expanding their Enterprise 'edge' cloud services. I also added a bit more T too.

I put the proceeds into XRX as a dividend capture play (xdiv next week) and looking for a swing trade back to $18/share. XRX still generate huge cash flows from their legacy services business but eventually that will fade away.

Eventually I will deploy those proceeds into other 6% + dividend payers (maybe REITs). I wonder how much pricing power these Cell service providers have? I am finding several 4% utility dividend payers which can pass on their price increases with good upside.

FWIW, if you look at the average monthly expenses for the typical individual/family, mortgage, insurance, utilities and cell service along w/ food & health care, auto. The monthly cell service component is pretty large but I suspect peeps will be looking to cut the phone and/or service for cheaper plans.
