I may be out in left field but doesn't killing the Nord Stream pipe cut off Germany and others from the Russian NG It helps to read the article contained within indianpunchline.com

All I can say is we have plans for if they did something like that. Unless the new politically kinder gentler Air Force scrapped everything, we always planned on the Soviet union hitting us first with EMP then targeted strikes so we had backup ways of doing everything and backups for the backups etc. We even had second strike capabilities to hit their stuff that didn't get destroyed in the first exchanges or for other countries that tried to take advantage of the two of us knocking each other out.
