As I see it, someone is going to want to push nukes someday. Russia has shown itself to be unready for any type of warfare that involves modern computers in the weapons. It won't always be that way. If Russia senses any kind of victory through these threats it will eventually catch up technologically , and then be a real menace. This is the once in a century time to say this kind of chaos is not the answer. That's not bravado or recklessness, it's a realization that our option to stop the inevitable repeat of this threat will only be from a weaker position.

I am too slow to trade fast markets. I have a bunch of cash, but I made a lot of sales last year and owed a lot of taxes. The money to pay the taxes came largely from IRAs which means I took a lot of regular income out of the IRAs. I did the transfer after the first of the year, so I am going to owe a lot of taxes again. I think the market may be down again next spring, so my plan is to coast for now, figure out the taxes once I get all the paperwork and if I still have cash left over I'll put it to work in the spring. Otherwise I got an envelope full of Euros in case I want to travel.

A heads up about data feed. As I said last night, I couldn't get updates on a few key tickers like SPX, VIX, TNX, TYX etc but everything else works.
I just got off the phone with support and apparently the CBOE jacked up the price for some data feed to ridiculous levels. For my provider, they are giving alternate symbols to use, basically the actual futures in most cases or else a derivative of the underlying.
I imagine this could impact other providers so they could do the same or else are going to raise the price for your data.
Remember, this inflation is transitory.
