I think it’s good that we do not depend on a China for so much. Spreading the buying and the outsourcing is good. But β€” the Pelosi visit and similar initiatives is like clearly telling the Chinese β€” Si Vis Pacem - Para Bellum. You want peace - prepare for war. More likely than not, they got the message - and are acting accordingly.

And as for sanctions β€” the U.S. just slapped them with the strongest sanctions ever - sharply limiting the scope of work U.S. citizens and green card holders can perform for the Chinese companies that employ them.

In other words, American trained people - both American and the Chinese who applied for permanent status - had to walk out on their employers.
