"Dirty bombs" would solve the problem of storing radioactive waste from reactors. Just spread it around. It would help with rewilding of large areas so that wildlife can reclaim territory as around Chernobyl. Ukraine could be turned into a vast regional park. The Ukes could go and live in Eurostan, the Russians to the eastern end. Hey presto, no need for more firing of guns and rockets and stuff.

Top dressing from aircraft would spread it better than a silly bomb which is expensive and would leave an unevenly distributed radioactive concentrations.

Or, better still, adopt Mq's long established Happy Harmony Brexit/Scottish/Irish/Yugoslavian style solution have voting by region so each can decide their political arrangements. There's no particular reason that the 1991 happenstance borders should be permanent. Voting is the normal civilized way to decide politics.

Brexit was done with barely a shot fired. Scots voted to remain with UK. Irish liked independence from England, but have voted to be Euroserfs ruled by Germans. Donetsk, Luhansk etc had votes and they wanted out of Zelensky's murderous clutches after 8 years of being bombarbed by Ukes. If the vote is in doubt, have another UN supervised vote in a year. Meanwhile, redesign the UN so it is not an absurdly designed WWII victors' club. Get the UN reduced from the kleptocratic suffocatocracy of megalomaniac bossy bastard corruptocrats it has become to a commons-protecting border-securing federal function.
