New software? Most computers come with Microsoft Network fully configured. How hard is it to click a mouse.

No I don't think the price raise will trigger a mass exodus but subsciber growth is the key, right now AOL is priced for perfection (actually more than perfection). Now it certainly wouldn't be hard to figure out that any of the previously mentioned issues may very well have a definite impact on that growth and thus the stock price.

AOL added 1Million subscb last quarter, this million is independent from the Compuserve deal right?

Is AOL a stock full of gas with a stinking accounting ?

The point is only 10% have to leave AOL to keep revenues where they are. The majority will stay. But growth will also slow.

bob,

Who wants to learn a new service, commands and have to install new software for a nominal price increase?

By this logic, every single current Compuserve customer will have no reason to stay on as an AOL client. They will (sooner or later) have to both learn a new interface AND pony up an extra $24/year.
