Well, I would do something like that if I were going to reformat/reinstall often. But I do it at-most once a year (or if I were upgrading to Windows98, for example).

I do a lot of installing/uninstalling of applications. Unfortunately, the Add/Remove Programs utility doesn't work so well; so my computer eventually is filled up with lots of reminants that I don't need/want, and it gradually slows down (boot-up can get especially slow).
