Hi Kirk,

Old farmer saying: Make Hay when the sun shines.

It is scary to think that this very long bull market and its very high valuations can turn into very long bad markets with stocks selling for less than the cash in the bank.

Those years after the Dot.com collapse were long and slow.

As I look into my account and try to balance it with my other assets, it is very clear I have way too many shares.

I say that realizing my cash balance is 32% of my entire account balance.

I'll reduce that when and if I can get 5% on 13 and 26 week treasuries. It's close on 13's and 26's. I'd like to build out a ladder of 13 and 26 weeks fo 2 years and then fill in with 2 year out to 5 year ladder. I'll turn more that into 2 and 5 year treasuries if 6% becomes available.

I had to keep a personal financial statement for the bank back when our last dealership had a mortgage. We paid that off last year.

In it I have: real estate, cars, cash, checking/saving accounts, personal possessions, IRA's and Stock accounts.

This year I've spent a lot finishing up my 1955 Nomad restoration.

I've also bought a 1957 Fuelie Corvette, and three old Rochester Ramjet fuel injection systems. It's my way of an alternative investment. It's a love I've had all my life and it does give me great joy to restore them.

I'd love to buy some more real estate but two parcels that I did bid on (That are adjacent to my land) were bid over the asking price which I bid at). Missed them by a large differential. So I guess my Wisconsin home is very valuable.

We will start a remodel next spring. I've needed a roof for years and the windows and siding need to be upgraded with more energy efficient replacements. I'm also having an architect draw up plans that will put more sunshine in my house. Back in 1967 the efficient house was built into a hill. Walk in the top floor and walk out the bottom on the other side. I'm going to add on to the top floor and let the very good southern exposure heat my home on sunny days. I also have two artesian wells on my land. Hoping to hook up a geopump and route it into my heated floor and slant fin radiant heating system. The water temp of the artesian wells is 52 degrees in July's hottest day and january's coldest day.

Darn Real estate is so high. It just is not time to be buying real estate.

I toy with selling my Houston home every summer I'm in Wisconsin. Then when I get to The Woodlands, I do love living on Lake Woodlands.

The darn traffic is so bad in Houston. The crime is much higher there also - even in "NICE" neighborhoods.

Buy farm land!
