That started coming into focus the day the Trumps came down the escalator.

this time the MAGA scruffnecks will, for the first time in years, clearly see who the enemy within the republican ranks really are

We are fighting to become the party of the majority. I cannot see how this could be accomplished by being purists.

That is a very good point.

Yesterday we went to breakfast with friends whom we hadn't seen in a while. These folks are salt of the Earth, conservative and fairly religious. Of course, the conversation turned to politics, and they are prime examples of voters who have a more purist mind-set. They adamantly insist that republicans remain above board and not stoop to using democrat tactics to "win" future elections. They are completely opposed to ballot harvesting, (even when legal) and want in person voting with no mail-in ballots. They want the new congress to prioritize the nation's business, and they are worried republicans will mainly focus on investigations. They believe if that is what happens, independent voters will be driven to the democrats in droves in the '24 election.

We ran into the same mindset at precinct caucus' in the '90s. The people of deep faith we've met literally believe in turning the other cheek.

Agree with the obvious caveat .. ballot fraud and election tampering are rampant. This is the 2nd election with overt theft in major swing states & it is turning people off to our greatest gift as a Republic.

This is the result.
