It sure is a good thing you have those Democratic dual standards, cuz, without them, you'd have none at all.

"Even climate change zealots like you realize that the release is temporary and can't outlast anything OPEC and RuZZia can do."
Gratuitous climate reference aside, Rat knows that a total embargo by OPEC would severely cripple the global economy. Countries with SPRs won't fare much better. He also wonders if the world can get back to the production levels of 4 years ago. We're 4 million BPD behind 11/18.

The known data for OPEC crude only is through October. The EIA expects OPEC crude to drop the almost 28 million bp/d by December but then rise to over 29 million bp/d by June 2023.

The known data for USA C+C is through September.

"Coulda shoulda woulda is no excuse for repeating the same mistakes that allowed PooTin to get rich, grab Europe by the balls"

It took Europe a few years to figure that out. They should have made a decision to become independent of Russia after the '14 invasion, but they didn't. They are now correcting the mistake as fast as they can.

"Hey, I have a great idea! Why don't we continue being hostile to oil, thereby creating supply shortages that drive up the price? f someone blames us, we can just point out how we coulda shoulda woulda ended our addiction to oil back during the Obama era!"

It can't be done in just 8 years, but maybe we should have started in '06, when Bush admitted the addiction. Oh, well; we didn't. We are where we are, and mostly doing it because of climate change, not the availability of oil.
