Which is why those who deny unenumerated rights like privacy are wrongheaded.

The federal government takes priority over the states.

And the supreme court has upheld that. That is the only way we can have a union for Christ's sake-lol!

So it does grant states certain rights, and forbids other issues, like segregation and now homophobia and gay marriage!

And every western democracy functions the same more or less.

Most of you don't even know what the difference is between a democracy and Republic

In practical terms it is a difference without a distinction!.

Our constitution is not a "grantor" of rights; it is a "protector" of rights.

It is a fundamentally different concept. We really shouldn't allow that fact to be forgotten.
