The earning estimates presented so far are for the most part inscrutable. Contributors need to specify whether they are quoting "basic" or "diluted" earnings per share. If they are quoting diluted earnings per share, they should specify the number of shares used in the computation.

I do not see how they can actually quote diluted earnings per share meaningfully unless they know the number of "diluted share" outstanding. I have not seen this published anywhere. The basic shares outstanding is either 356 or 358 million depending on who is actually right.
