Agree. For a lawyer, being afraid of a government backlash does sound odd. Actually, as Frank just pointed out, there are some ongoing litigations: tennesseestar.com

But still, it appears that for an attorney to take on an “unpopular” client could be damaging. Trump’s lawyers do not seem to fare too well. Even Rudy Giuliani - the great America’s Mayor - walked away with a reputation of being a strange person - and likely, a drunk.

Plaintiff tort law firms aren't captured by their clients like defense or transactional firms, so if there is money to be made they'd be gathering class plaintiffs.

The big defense/transactional firms are exhibiting client capture. Even the biggest law firms are in thrall to the billings of their biggest two to four corporate clients. When your big woke corporate client tells the firm it is a choice between the client and politically unpopular representation... the firm is going to avoid the representation.

Don't believe me?

I asked a partner lawyer in a top international law firm [in London] and she dismissed that idea as wrong. "Unlikely.. I'd say".

As a recovering lawyer now in retirement, I’d say the person to ask is not a lawyer with an international, practice, but rather a member of the class action, complex litigation Bar.

Think of the lawyers who flood the internet and airwaves with solicitations for clients who drank the water at Camp Lejune, or who sprayed Roundup around the yard.
