It would not surprise me to learn there is $1 trillion in USD sitting offshore as hedges by regular people which is a free loan to US taxpayers for the interest it doesn't have to pay.
It is hard to comprehend the numbers involved with the world's wealth supply but its significantly more than the trillion or so that crypto had at its peak.
I've read some interesting spy, crime and lawyer drama books-on-tape during my hikes about all sorts of schemes. One of the best explaining it was I think the first Jack Reacher book that Amazon Prime made into a series earlier this year.

You haver to wonder how much of the trillions pouring from our wallets into Ukraine to buy weapons from US arms dealers is skimmed off for all sorts of payback to legal commissions and fees...
