>> There just are not that many Russians swimming across the water to illegally enter Canada compared to those doing the same from Mexico and countries further South of Mexico.

Partially true. Yes, our borders are more secure than the US. But no, plenty of Americans (and illegal American migrants) try to cross into Canada for the better healthcare and education. There is a hotline here for people to call about their landing status and basic right. The very first thing they hear when they call (in multiple languages) is that they should not fear deportation if their employer is abusing them. That if they are a housekeeper, the employer may not charge them excessively for the room and board, keep their passport, or make them work more than a preset amount. That such notices exist means that we do have illegals and issues - we just deal with them differently.

Very enlightened of you and it is a viable plan. But the American culture and political process makes it impossible to discuss.

As a side note - American soldiers were not in Vietnam to help them with democracy and the US "aid" to Ukraine is not what most Americans think it is. You can dig in more into the details and try seeing it from an outsider perspective rather than an American.
