Hi Sendme,

I was married by a Methodist preacher in 1978.

Previous to him joining the clergy, he was a CPA.

I was very straight forward with him about how I wanted the wording in the ceremony. I was a Christian, but I was not a church goer, as I thought it was just another business. He candidly said That's why I became a preacher, it is a tax free business. I liked the job he did for us! It has worked so far.

Bob

What was that saying, the way to get rich is to lie to people who want to be lied to?

>> pastors houses and all of them are bigger than myself or any member of my family has lived in and one of them was more lavish than any house I had been in when I was working in LA.

I have nothing against this particular form of "business", except that it should not be tax free and it should not misrepresent itself - just like every other business. To do otherwise, is a government sanctioned fraud and con.
