Clark, I am trying to copy and paste two posts from the Q Motley Thread (this time from a very nice lady who was as the meeting and who, unlike Sidman, was evidently coherent) but AOL is screwing up the posts again and they are currently unavailable. To paraphrase, she got to the podium and asked some infrastructure questions which got answered by the CFO and the good Dr.
She was concerned about default, buying infrastructue business with shaky customers, and so on. Interesting response was that the Q was working with a banking consortium to sell those receivables off, both existing and future. Don't know if this is directly responsive to your question.
She also maintains that she got together with "some very nice guys from the Q SI thread" whom she described as "more technical", and if memory serves wound up with them at the now infamous Jasmine. Do you boys have anything else you'd like to report? Hmmmmm.

Clark,

you don't sound at all confused to me. I understand that most infra deals involve vendor financing so QCOM offering vendor financing is not buying business, unless LU, MOT, NT etc stop financing the contracts. Furthermore, one can argue that QCOM is not getting their fair share of awards. Wouldn't that imply QCOM may not be offering as attractive terms to the customers as the competitors? There were some speculation that MOT was offering deals that cannot be refused so they got some of the SA awards last year. Unfortunately, I doubted if the public would ever know the details of these negotiations so we can only speculate.
