A much better approach IMO I do disagree with you that "UAN is one of the safest stocks I have seen." Now if you meant it is one of the safest to earn the 33% yield you are projecting, well that universe is quite small since very few stocks earn that projected yield and when they do there are reasons for it and typically none of those reasons are good. And given what you said about a number of past dividend being reduced due to "one time issues", not sure how you can expect there not to be any "one time issues" going forward. Nor how you can be confident of projecting dividends with any level of confidence beyond the next quarter, especially as fertilizer prices are on the downcycle now and farmers will be constrained by the recession. While I can't speak for everyone on this thread, judging by other posts, it seems the type of income people here seek is the more conservative, sleep well at night variety. I know that is me. I don't need to take greater risks if I can invest in stocks that let me sleep well at night and provide the income level I desire. For me, UAN has far more risk than I want or need and is far more volatile in price. So I could be wrong but not sure if this is really the target audience you seek UAN is IMO a speculative investment. Not an income investment.
