Instead of selling everything on January 2 and taking a 10 month vacation from the market, I continued to be on margin. All year. And had the worst year since 2008.

So it goes.... DON'T FIGHT THE FED!!!!!

My mistake is I held a few losers too long. I had 3 trades that killed my year. Other than those, I had an above average win/loss percentage which is what contributed to my errors. I didn't want to blow my streak so held for a recovery.
Right now I'm on a 10 in a row win streak. I'm 58/20 for the year so far and almost all the losers are from when I tried TNA. I just never got a feel for it so I am back with SPY, UDOW and SPXL/SPXS where I bat more around 90%+

Looks like the Hoodies are making a come back. Explains a lot of the recent action...

THE biggest lesson I learned from my smoke-filled room.......

Trade what's in front of you, follow price action and not where you THINK the market should be going. The market doesn't give a shit what Lou thinks......

Patience, don't predict, react.....

I can't seem to trade a longer term pattern very well. Seems I always set the profit lock stop to tight and it gets hit.

I working on it though. <G>

Too many mistakes -
Holding on to small winners thinking they woud become a larger winners and letting them turn into a loss.
Mainly trading the long side.
Being too early.
Being impatient.
Allowing losses to become big losses.
Not planning trades.
Too afraid to play the dark side....

Only thing I did right was took losses or closed most trades that I thought could get ugly on Jan. 10th and remained mostly cash since...

There were some times when I went too large in KOLD or BOIL, and I couldn't handle the swings in volatility, getting stopped out for losses.

I found that if I kept my positions smaller, I could ride out the swings far better and make highly profitable trades in KOLD and BOIL.

Earnings expectations are starting to become realistic:

S&P 500 is estimated to have no earnings growth in 2023 compared to 2022. Still, investors pay roughly 18.5 times 2023 earnings estimates in the face of tightening financial conditions and liquidity sufficiently drained from markets.
