Re <<The (PPP) stuff is total BS...>> ... dunno, agnostic, but and figure that perhaps economies can be even if ought not be measured by tons of stuff used / produced.

Reduced to simplest, two island economies living off of fishing and coconuts should be easier to compare than what we have this day on the planet.

Failing at such simplification, Economist use Big Macs. I consume 12 Big Macs per annum. Love them. Happy that I was able to take the Jack to Burger King whilst transiting Bangkok airport recently. Burger King stuffing much better in our opinion - the bacon and flaming are good

Think perhaps some adjustments are needed to tabulate GDP, but unsure GDP itself is that relevant, or that PPP is the adjustment called for.

Your probably right. I just threw that out there as a counter argument.

I am not so sure Russia is hurting more then the West from the Ukraine war in aggregate. In WW2 the German army were confounded by the Russians as they didn't seem so bothered by living in really difficult conditions.

Back to "PPP".

Your response has me thinking though. Maybe there is a better way to present the data taking into consideration different perceived value. It could take a while before I can say more on that one.
